Eugenia Jones – Chief Strategy Consultant, Gist Consulting
Eugenia is regarded nationally and internationally as a leading contributor in the medical device and biotechnology arenas. She is the Chief Strategy Consultant at Gist Consulting LLC, with offices in Madison, Wisconsin and Long Beach, California, and retains association with the University of Wisconsin at Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, as an Honorary Fellow in the Department of Physiology. Eugenia consults with companies seeking to build effective product/service development systems using market driven processes and intellectual asset management best practices to promote innovation. Her philosophy embraces an approach identifying core competencies and using those competencies to build collaborative cross-functional teams and partnerships.
Prior to her current position Eugenia worked at Life Technologies, Clinical Diagnostics group in various management positions. She was responsible for technology transfer, platform innovation, and product development of in vitro diagnostic systems and assays. Before entering industry full time, while in residence at the University of Wisconsin as a Scientist and Lecturer, Eugenia’s research on ion channels in excitable membranes produced U.S. patents and developed several commercial products used in drug screening and basic research. Eugenia has more than 25 years of biotechnology experience, including training at the University of Chicago and the California Institute of Technology. She sits on the advisory boards of Women in Science at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and BreakAbove Company.
Born in Oxnard, California, educated in Ireland, Italy and the United States, Eugenia is a resident of Madison, Wisconsin since 1996. She is a life long amateur soccer player, competing on teams that won national and international competitions, yet has never won a game against her Catahoula leopard dog in the backyard.
